Exhalting Jesus Christ

January 1, 2023

This morning, while sitting in our church gathering, I received a message that said a dear pastor friend had left earth and entered Heaven. He was a preacher of the gospel. He believed in the redemption and the resurrection of the body.

According to Genesis our human bodies became subject to corruption and death because of the Fall. Scripture calls our fallen bodies perishable, dishonorable, and weak. The apostle Paul says our bodies are in 'bondage to decay' (Rom 8:21). Even so, the body contains and reveals hope.

Christ's resurrection confirms the promise of the redemption of the body. Because of it we can look forward to the day when "the creation itself" will be liberated from its bondage and brought into the freedom of the children of God. Until then "we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the resurrection of our bodies'' (Rom 8:23).

Redemption is the way to resurrection. Redemption is available through Christ Jesus. All who call upon the name of the Lord will be redeemed. Why not call upon the Savior today?

A growing collection of thoughts that are designed to provoke thinking about how we should look at our world and live our Christian life.
